I was born in small town Michigan with wanderlust in my blood, and the love of live music in my bones. My mom often recalls memories from her own childhood in which my grandpa would come home from work on a Friday evening, and he and my grandma would spontaneously decide to pack up the car and drive the nearly 500 miles south to Nashville to go the Opry and hear their favorites. While I’m not a country music fan, it’s no surprised that I ended up moving to Nashville in 2006 as college grad, though the open road and friendly skies often feel more like home.

I’ve spent many years following my favorite band, Hanson, on the road, and this blog started as a way for me to share those experiences, as well as my concert and music reviews. The name of this blog is a play on one of their song titles, Scream And Be Free, and my last name Frees. I’ve recently started expanding my travel horizons and with that, have shifted the focus of this blog to more general travel, but there will still likely be Hanson content here and there as events unfold.
